The zoo spreads over 160 acres and houses more than 1500 creatures, including birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles. Almost 200 species live at the zoo and the animals live in surroundings that recreate their natural environment. National Aquarium in Baltimore

See the world’s largest collection of American railroad history, explore the 1884 Roundhouse and climb aboard a real locomotive. Free train rides run every day (except Mondays) from April through December. The museum has a sister site at Ellicott City Station, 13 miles north-west of Baltimore, which is the oldest surviving station in the US, combined admission tickets are available at a reduced price.

Children will love this museum where touching the exhibits is positively encouraged, and learning is fun. The museum stretches over three floors and covers many aspects of science including space, astronomy, health, the human body, earth sciences and general sciences.
